Sunningdale Teaching School is hosting Thrive’s Childhood Practitioner Blended Learning Course

Thrive training helps adults to nurture supportive and positive relationships with children so that they are better able to cope with life’s ups and downs. The Thrive Approach has been developed over more than 20 years, drawing from the fields of neuroscience, attachment theory, child development and the arts.

You will find out why troubled and vulnerable children behave the way they do and what you can do to support them. You will learn the importance of relationships and how you can adapt your ways of being with the child to facilitate positive change in them.

To support you in this, Thrive-Online will enable you to profile the social and emotional development of whole classes as well as individual children in order to identify their underlying emotional needs. Based on this, you will then be able to select from a range of practical strategies and activities that you can use to help them.

By the end of the course, you will feel more confident to deal with disruptive and troubling behaviour and you will find stress levels reduce as relationships between staff and children improve.

The course is delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face learning, spread over a period of approximately three and a half months. Learning will take place over six face-to-face days and three e-learning modules. Upon successful completion, you will gain your Thrive Childhood Practitioner Licence.

The content of the course includes:

  • Day 1 – 20/01/20: E Learning Materials Released
  • Day 2 – 03/02/20: Face to Face
  • Day 3 – 04/02/20: Face to Face
  • Day 4 – 21/04/20: E Mentoring Session 2

  • Day 7- 03/06/20: E Mentoring Session 3
  • Day 8 – 08/06/20: Face to Face

It also includes: Thrive membership and Professional Licensing upon successful completion of the full course, and a First Year discount of 12 months for the price of 9 months on the Thrive-Online Whole Setting subscription for schools new to Thrive.

Requirements: To be professionally licensed you will need to be an authorised user of Thrive-Online through an annual Whole Setting subscription. This will need to be in place for day one of training.
