Sunningdale School has established free termly cross authority regional moderation group meetings where schools from Tyne and Wear, Durham, Northumberland, Teeside and surrounding areas can come together to moderate their general use as well as observations and profiles that they are using as part of their implementation of the Engagement Model, which was made statutory for use with pupils not yet engaged in subject specific learning in 2021-22.

These practical moderation sessions are for schools that are using the model. Schools and practitioners share and discuss each others use of the model as well as their recording and understanding of each of the 5 areas. The sessions are not intended for schools that are not using the model with their pupils.

Sessions take place at the SENhub based at Sunningdale school in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.
