The Moving & Handling People with Special Needs ‘Train the Trainer’ course is held over 5 consecutive days and is purely practical with the theory elements being completed via Open Learning prior to the practical commencing.

The 5 day course is the most widely used course of its type within Special Schools across the United Kingdom.

Once delegates have successfully completed the course, they are then able to deliver training directly to others as well as being able to carry out Risk Assessments.

Once trained all ‘Key Trainers’ are then monitored via a paper-based assessment which is carried out every 6 months indefinitely. They are also required to attend a 1 day ‘face to face’ practical within 2 years of being trained, then every 2 years thereafter.

The course itself was originally accredited via the (BMA) British Medical Association and has since been adopted as the ‘go to’ course for those supporting children with physical special needs and / or learning difficulties.

This course costs  £1300 + VAT, this includes lunch on each day, the pre course theory work, the 5 day practical, a copy of the DVD based training pack as well as the on going paper based assessments as mentioned above.
