Sunningdale School is a consistently outstanding specialist setting that offers a child centred curriculum for pupils with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (including those with Autism).
We are looking for an outstanding member of staff to join our dynamic administration team. The role will involve delivering a wide range of school administrative duties but a key responsibility will be providing administrative support for the school’s training arm, SENhub.
SENhub was set up by Sunningdale School to provide teachers, parents and carers with training and advice about enhancing the educational experience of children with special educational needs. We work with those teachers and parents whose children are in both mainstream education and those attending special needs schools.
Roughly one in six children have recognised special educational needs such as behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. To make the value of Sunningdale School experience available to as many children presenting learning needs as possible, the school works with a wide range of partners to devise a range of learning interventions which it shares through a range of events and workshops.
The SENhub is also the venue through which we host our unique Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course in partnership with the University of Northumbria for those wishing to train to be teachers in Specialist settings and provisions. This course is virtually unique and one of only a few in the entire country.
The successful candidate will play an important role in contributing to the development and success of SENhub, and will be involved in planning, co-ordinating and promoting national and regional events and workshops to wide group of educational practitioners, parents and careers.
